A stunning return to the traditional yellow gold in which The Sovereign was struck for centuries, this 2026 edition commemorates two significant milestones in the coin’s history.

The reverse features Benedetto Pistrucci’s celebrated portrayal of St George and the dragon. Its inclusion is especially significant as 2026 marks 500 years since England’s patron saint first appeared on English coins.

Struck in 22-carat gold to Proof standard, the coin also celebrates 500 years of the alloy’s use. Introduced in 1526, 22-carat gold remains the traditional composition in which The Sovereign is struck today.
