2026 The Lord of the Rings UK 50p Silver Proof Colour Coin

This is first coin in an epic seven-coin collection celebrating 25 years of The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. The reverse design was created by Thomas T. Docherty, a product designer at The Royal Mint, that depicts the Eye of Sauron framed within the One Ring when it catches the light. The caustic feature that embellishes the reverse of the coin marks the first time this innovative technology has been used on a UK commemorative coin. Complemented by customized packaging that explores the creation and tale of the One Ring. The coin was created in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. Features colour printing that enhances the coin’s epic reverse design.
