Known for its tireless high-altitude soaring and remarkable hunting prowess, the birds distinctively long, wedge-shaped tail sets it apart from other raptors.
The coin’s reverse portrays a coloured representation of a wedge-tailed eagle with outstretched wings ready to take flight. The design includes the inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, together with the coin’s weight, purity, and year-date.
