$99.00 USD

The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk was a single-engine fighter aircraft used by the United States and Allied forces during World War II. It was one of the principal American fighter aircraft in service when the United States entered the war. The P-40 Warhawk was best known for its service with the "Flying Tigers," the First American Volunteer Group (AVG) of the Chinese Air Force in 1941–1942. Flying in defense of China against Japanese forces, the Flying Tigers achieved notable success and gained a reputation for their bravery and skill. The aircraft's distinctive shark-mouth design, inspired by the squadron leader of the Flying Tigers, became an enduring symbol of the P-40 and is often associated with its legacy.   This coin was struck by the official mint of France and has a limited mintage of 3,000.
