$2 1917 Legal Tender Note FR#58 PMG-65EPQ S/N A93156384A “Bracelet Reverse”

These are called Bracelet Reverse notes because the design on the back of the note looks like a Bracelet.  Deuces are always highly sought after by collectors.  In fact, on the top 100 list there is a total of 8 different “deuces” on the list!  This note has the same design as the deuce listed as #40 on the list.  Jefferson’s portrait can be seen on the left side of the note while the center of the note features the image of the Capital Building as it looked back in 1917.  If you look closely, you can see horse drawn carriages along with men and women dressed in the formal attire of the time.  The back of the note has a large “2” in the center of it surrounded by 4 different designs linked together to make what looks like a bracelet, hence the name.  This is a shining example of the type and displays wonderful centering. The note has exceptional print quality and strong margins.  I also like this note a lot because it is a scarcer FR# with only 435 graded in all grades at PMG, making it at least 12 times scarcer than the most common FR#60.  There are also only 12 notes known that grade higher with the highest being a lone 67.  This note is in the top 25 known for the FR#!
